This unique one of a kind Americana stitchery is done on coffee-dyed and stained muslin. The stitchery is surrounded by a field of dark barn red calico with tiny antique white stars.
The flag's stripes are hand-stitched in a dark country red which matches the surrounding fabric.
The flag's field of blue is a piece a navy material backed with warm and natural. The stitches surrounding the navy fabric are done in very dark brown. A rusty star has been added to the stitchery and tied with antique white thread.
"I pledge of Allegiance", "Old Glory", "freedom", "one nation under God" and "honor" are hand-stitched along the top of the flag in very dark brown thread. Each is divided with three tiny "x"s.
"Stars and stripes", "1776", "USA", "liberty", "justice" and "America the beautiful" are hand-stitched along the bottom of the flag in very dark brown thread. Each is divided with three tiny "x"s.
It is framed in a handcrafted wood frame that is painted black and heavily sanded to add to the time worn appearance of the stitchery. A sawtooth hanger has been added to the back of the frame for your convenience.
This stitchery measures approximately 10 1/2 inches x 24 inches.
