#ANI2TRAY. "Twin Annies" Serving Tray

Original and cute, these two Annies are sure to catch your eye!

This handmade serving tray measures approximately 10 x 14 inches and has been cut from 1/2 inch pine.

It has been fashioned with handles on each side and  has two ovals measuring 4 x 5 1/2 inches cut from the base.  I have inserted two hand-stitched original prim Annies done on coffee-dyed muslin.

These Annies have dark country red for their hair, a dark blue dress with a tiny heart and a stitched ivory lace collar to complete their outfit.

The tray has been painted black and heavily sanded for a very worn and aged appearance.   A piece of glass has been added into the serving area, which protects the stitching and allows the tray to be used, if you want.

At the edges of the glass, I have attached small rusted metal filagree corners as decorative accents.

The hand-stitching is of several cinnabuns, cinnamon sticks, candles and vines and berries all done up in a dark cranberry colored bowl.    I've used light and dark browns, a light sage, antique gold, ivory and several different reds throughout the picture, all on coffee dyed muslin.

The tray has been painted in a shade of dark nutmeg brown to compliment the colors of the stitching.  The edges have been heavily sanded for an aged appearance and the entire tray has been sealed with a waterproof protective matte finish .

#PRWTRAY. "Primitive Rose Wreath" Serving Tray

...add a touch of springtime to your home with this beautiful tray...

The stitching for this tray is done from a Primitive Stitches pattern.

This handmade serving tray measures approximately 10 x 14 inches and is 2 inches deep.  It has been made from 1/2 inch pine.

The tray is made with handles on each side and a 9 inch oval cut-out in the base of the tray where the hand-stitching has been placed.

My "prim rose wreath" stitching has been done on coffee dyed muslin that has been stained for an aged appearance.  I used a deep chocolate brown for the grapevine wreath, a country rose for the roses, dark moss green for leaves and stems, deep burgundy for the tiny petals and a light harvest gold for the star.

The tray has been painted in "chocolate cherry" (a rich dark brown with hints of deep burgundy and plum) that most definitely compliments the stitching.

The tray has been sanded and then sealed with a waterproof protective matte finish.  There is a piece of glass inserted into the serving area, which protects the stitching and allows the tray to be used, if you want.  At the edges of the glass, I have attached small rusted metal filagree corners as decorative accents.
