All Wandering Whimsies items are handmade right here in the U.S.A.!  We are a family business located outside of Fort Knox, Kentucky.  I create each item offered on our website, with help and support of my husband.   I strive to offer original and unique items which will become a treasured keepsake for you or the person who receives it.

 

Timeframes:   Most items are made when ordered (unless stated within the item listing) and ship within 5 to 14 business days.  Specialty and personalized items (i.e., military patch stitcheries, baby/wedding announcements) may take up to 3 weeks for shipping.

Please note that these timeframes are subject to change during the holiday season - mid October through mid December. 

 

Stitcheries:  All of my stitcheries are sewn by hand.  Most are done from my original designs, with a few from my favorite designers.  The use of colors, sewing technique and staining process have been perfected over the years with each stitchery I complete.

        - the staining process on each stitchery is done with coffee, making each one a unique piece of artwork.

        - vintage and antique scrap quilt pieces are used.  These are old "cutter" quilts which are no longer in usable condition.

        - vintage and/or antique buttons are used in many of my creations, adding to the charm of each piece.

 

Frames:  All of my stitchery frames are handmade by me from solid pine strips. This process allows me to make "non" traditional size frames and creates a unique mounting for my stitcheries.  These frames provide a rustic time-worn feel to compliment my stitcheries.

           - my frames are created from 1 1/2 inch pine strips and backed with 1/4 inch wood. (Paper and cardboard backings are not used.)

           - all of my stitcheries are stretched and attached to the frame by my own unique method to prevent bubbling or sagging of the material.  Tape, etc., is not used for mounting.

--- MY FRAMES DO NOT CONTAIN GLASS!  Due to the use of liquids in the staining process, it would eventually cause a build-up of moisture underneath the glass surface and onto the fabric.   If, you are looking to frame one of my stitcheries with glass, contact me with a request for just the unframed stitched piece.

 

Payment Methods:   Preferred methods of payment are Paypal and direct checkout with a major credit card.  (Cards accepted:  Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover)

Business checks will be accepted for wholesale orders.  Contact me for information when placing your order through our wholesale section.

 

Shipping and Local Delivery:  please see our shipping information page.  

 

Refunds / Returns:  Every effort is made to ensure that your order is packed securely for shipping.   Contact me within 3 days of delivery (date stated on USPS or UPS tracking information) with any concerns or questions regarding your order.

I will provide you with instructions for returning the item or a request for photos of the damage to submit with a claim request. Upon receipt of the returned item or receipt of emailed photos - a refund or replacement will be initiated.

- damages to any items will be refunded at purchase price stated on invoice (shipping charges are non-refundable - unless an error, such as an incorrect item shipped was made) or a replacement item will be made and shipped.

- INSURANCE is automatically added to all USPS and UPS shipments ($50/$100 respectively). I will add additional insurance to all orders necessary - above the standard amount provided by the shipping carrier on speciality orders, one of a kind items, etc.

 - I (the shipper) will file all necessary insurance claims with the carrier.  Upon notification by you, I will provide you (the buyer) a replacement of your order or a refund for damaged or lost items.


Lost Orders:  In the event of loss for a mailed order: I will contact the shipping carrier as soon as I am notified by you that your order has not arrived. 

In the unlikely event that I receive confirmation from USPS/UPS that your order is indeed lost, I will contact you. It will be your choice of a full refund (minus shipping costs) or to have replacement items made.

 

Exchanges:  Due to the type of items I offer, exchanges are not possible.  Please ensure that you have provided me with the correct colors, potpourri scents, names, dates, military affiliation, etc when placing your order and/or when I contact you to verify the information for custom orders.

 

Wholesale Requests:  please see our wholesale information page.  Wholesale is available to brick and mortar stores or those with a booth inside of a brick and mortar antique or craft mall only.  We do not wholesale to websites and any unverifiable businesses.

 

Drop-Shipping:  Our items are not available for drop-shipping.

 

Donations, etc:  Donation requests are handled on a case-by-case basis dependent on the cause, charity, etc.  Please email me with your request and include all pertinent information, dates, contact person, website info, location, etc.
